Artist's Description

A Cardinal came to us about a month after Kiko passed over... he continually slammed his beak into a window in our living room, bedroom and kitchen. I tried various things such as wind chimes to make him leave... nothing worked. We surrendered and came to love him. He stayed for a year. I believe it was Kiko telling us that he was still alive, but in a different form... Red had Kiko's determination and serious look. When I painted this the paint just laid itself out on the canvas. Red used to sit on a thin branch by the window that would bend and bounce up and down. We laughed as he went in and out of view riding the branch. Kiko did funny things like this too.
